Scout&Sprout
Do you remember the last time you felt a sense of nature? How did it feel? What did it look like? While some people can recall it instantly, others may have almost forgotten. During the COVID outbreak, experiencing nature became tricky with stay-at-home mandates. In Bangkok, limited public green spaces made it even harder to enjoy the beauty of nature.
This project was initiated to explore how graphic design can foster new behaviors and bring the green experience back into our lives. Through research, exploration, interviews, and deep investigation into the initial idea, we found that the sense of growing plants provides sentimental value and memorable moments to the owner. However, engaging people in unfamiliar experiences and behaviors is challenging. We are currently investigating and demonstrating our conclusions using Cultural Probes, Habit Loop and The Plateau of Latent Potential by James Clear as a primary design research method. This process involves designing tasks, analyzing results, and generating an effective design brief.
Scout&Sprout is a toolkit designed to reconnect the younger generation with the green experience. By encouraging them to pay attention to their surroundings, confidently start planting, and effectively gain planting experience, we believe everyone can get closer to nature. Let Scout&Sprout fill you and your home with green sensory experiences.
