Architecture, life &
A quinquennial monograph by Architects49, celebrates A49's 40th anniversary. This monograph delves into the various dimensions of architectural design, divided into three main sections: Past Perfect, Past Perfect & Future Perfect, and Present Perfect Continuous.
Starting with the past, it revisits iconic works, re-narrating and re-photographing them as if time-traveling through the lens of an inhabitant rather than a designer. Moving forward from the analog to the digital age, the monograph showcases impactful projects that address functionality, sentimentality, local context, experience, and aesthetics. Influenced by the modern world, architectural design must also consider environmental impact and broader quality of life. The final section documents selected projects from the past 40 years.
The long journey of Architects49 is interpreted through a design concept and art direction inspired by the museum, featuring both permanent and temporary exhibitions. This influence is reflected in the composition, drawing, design language through typography, and material selection for printing.
